Handtinting

In the nineties there was a sudden interest in handtinting black and white photographs, sparked off by Ross Halfin who used them extensively. Over a period of about ten years I produced hundreds of them, nearly all of rock musicians, for record sleeves, books and tour programmes. Not all images tint well (and the prints need to be particularly clean – no invisible fingerprints or chemical marks) but I’ve picked out some good examples here.
